What could be better for Wimbledon fortnight than a tasty strawberry and cream smoothie? This recipe is incredibly easy – just throw the ingredients in a blender or smoothie-maker, and you’ll have delicious drink in no time.
There’s even fruit (and therefore good stuff) in it.
Makes three or four glasses.
- 1 large handful of frozen strawberries (stalks removed)
- 1 medium banana
- 100 ml double cream
- 150 ml semi-skimmed milk
- 1 tbsp caster sugar or honey
This makes a thick and luxurious smoothie. For a lighter version, replace the cream with extra milk. Or if you’re feeling really healthy, replace both the milk and cream with fruit juice.
You can also change the proportions to alter the consistency or swap the strawberries and banana for other kinds of fruit.
Remember to remove the stalks from the strawberries before you freeze them. You can also use fresh strawberries, although you may want to add some ice.
- Blender or smoothie maker
1. Peel the banana and break it into chunks
2. Put the banana and strawberries in the blender and blend until smooth
3. Add the cream and milk
4. Blend some more
That’s all there is to it! It’s best to drink this straight away, while it’s still cold.
