Fish and chips by the sea. A bacon butty for elevenses. Roast chicken or an aromatic curry. All these foods are delicious, but dropping, spills and the grease that’s come through the paper can absolutely ruin your clothes.
Or can it? If you have the knowhow, greasy, oily stains aren’t as difficult to get out as you might think – and you don’t need any special stain removers either.
Take a look at this video from Bosch and let Karl the Engineer show you how it’s done.
To remove an oily stain on your clothes:
1. Lay the garment on a light coloured towel
2. Dip an old (but clean) toothbrush or scrubbing brush into some washing up liquid. Apply this directly to the stain using a gentle circular scrubbing motion. Try to work from the outside to the middle so it doesn’t spread.
3. Put the garment in the washing machine and wash it on the highest temperature recommended on the label.
4. Check the stain is gone before it’s dry – if not, repeat the process.
Of course, the type of washing machine you have makes a difference too. If you’re looking for a new one, take a look at our great quality Bosch models.
